Methodology
The site is critical by design, but every article must remain supportable.
1. Establish the event
Start with a dated decision, metric, official finding or direct public statement. Editorial illustrations and commentary never establish facts.
2. Map authority
Separate the mayor, City Council, City staff, the TTC, police, provincial agencies, Ottawa, private organizers and contractors.
3. Include inherited and external context
A predecessor, other government or market force may genuinely control part of the issue. That context belongs in the article even when it weakens the criticism.
4. Include Chow’s answer
Record apologies, policy corrections, funding wins, jurisdictional arguments and counter-evidence.
5. Label the conclusion
Official record or admission establishes the event.
The decision is factual; whether it was wrong is political judgment.
Evidence is incomplete and no conclusion is established.
An inference or editorial interpretation is clearly marked.
6. Correct visibly
Publish the original wording, corrected wording, date and reason. Do not quietly rewrite a material error.
